MAF has partnered with professional trainers and clinicians to
deliver essential education, training, and resources to parolees.
Our goal is to facilitate successful adoptions benefiting both adopters and mustangs. Moreover, we fervently advocate for the mustang's recognition as a substantial contributor in the equine realm.

Leach Colt Starting Academy, founded by nationally recognized horseman Lanny Leach, stems from a rich American ranching heritage. With over 50 years of horse training experience, Lanny has excelled in various equestrian pursuits, from rodeo championships to training the mustangs for the epic documentary "Unbranded."
Through MAF, Lanny imparts valuable skills to inmates, allowing them to train wild mustangs supplied by the Bureau of Land Management. Inspired by his passion for helping individuals in the inmate program, Lanny established the Leach Colt Starting Academy. This initiative provides parolees with an opportunity to develop their own training businesses. Beyond the academy, Lanny continues to offer training for outside horses, lessons, and clinics for the public.
