At the heart of MAF’s programs is the transformative connection between mustangs and people. Through hands-on experiences, participants develop communication, confidence, responsibility, and valuable life skills while creating meaningful opportunities for mustangs. From youth and veterans to first responders, former inmates, adopters, and others, MAF’s initiatives create second chances for both horses and people.

Northern Nevada Correctional Center (NNCC)
Mustang Training Program
In 2008, MAF played a pivotal role in relocating the Inmate Training Program in Carson City, Nevada, to its permanent location. This move has allowed for increased space and enhanced training facilities for mustangs. Adoptable mustangs are made available every few months at NNCC, with specific dates and mustang details accessible on the MAF website.
