About WHOA
Wild Horse Organized Assistance (WHOA) rescue program has over 40 years experience and history in mustang and burro protection and preservation. WHOA has specialized in rescue of orphan foals that have been abandoned in the wild or at a holding facility. This takes special care and many days of feeding every two hours throughout the day and all through the night hours.
Director – Dawn Lappin
Orphan Rescue
Each baby presents its own challenge. It takes special care from special people to be able see them thru to good health. Some don’t make it and that also takes someone special to spend the last hours with them so they don’t die alone. We are proud to have Dawn and Bert with WHOA as a division of Mustangs Of America Foundation.
These are BLM orphan foals. Once they are healthy they will be ready for adoption with BLM. Please contact Palomino Valley for adoption information: 775-475-2222

Other WHOA Rescues
WHOA rescued this BLM mustang who's adopters released him to the wild. The owners had been contacted and did not respond to claiming their horse. The proper channels were followed and the horse named Toby stayed with WHOA until he had put on some weight. He is now in the Save a Life Mustang Training Program to continue his training until he is ready for adoption.
