Orphan Training and Adoption Program

Each year Dawn Lappin recieves mustang orphan foals from the Northern Nevada BLM facilities. Many of these foals are in critical condition and require special care. Dawn has been rescueing foals for many years and is the number one expert on how to care for the youngsters. To help relieve some of the burden off Dawn the Inmate Orphan Training Program was started at the Northern Nevada Correctional Facility in Carson City. MAF is sponsoring this program that will provide gentling to the recovered foals, giving them a better chance for adoption. This program will also provide an opportunity for other inmates working at the corrals to participate in the mustang program at the prison.
