Mustang Training Program

In 2008 the Mustang Training and Adoption Program at Warms Springs Correctional Facility was relocated to the Northern Nevada Correctional Facility (NNCC) on Snyder Street (south side of Carson City). This move was facilitated by the Mustangs of America Foundation. Security at Warm Springs sometimes caused interruption in training and transportation of horses and equipment in and out of the facility. The new location was ideal because it was an agricultural based facility with less security issues. The new facility already housed and prepared mustangs waiting to be placed in the training program. There is more room for pens and corrals for training and easier for loading newly adopted mustangs. The expansion of this program at the new facility has allowed the number of mustangs available for adoption to increase.

The US Border Patrol, California Fish and Wildlife, US Army and the Marine Color Guard have adopted mustangs from this program. For more information on this and our other two programs please contact:
